Marthas grandfather grew up on Iona with Malcolm Ferguson (thought to be his uncle). Malcolm Ferguson represented the island of Iona at the Napier Commission (an enquiry into the rents and conditions of crofters and cottars 1870's). Thanks to the Lochaber College all 4 volumes and the report is available online. Each volume is huge and I have managed to lift off the part involving Malcolm Ferguson (thereby making his evidence easily accessable) and it is temporarily stored at the following URL as a pdf, for those who care to read it.
